"Joe Grushecky and Bruce Springsteen have an idea, and it ain’t Donald Trump. The two rockers have teamed up for a new track, “That’s What Makes Us Great,” that takes on Trump over the issues of immigration and alternative facts, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The track, credited to Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers, will be premiered 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 19 on SiriusXM’s E Street Radio  “Live from E Street with Dave Marsh,” according to Grushecky’s Facebook page.

“(Trump) lost me the moment he started making fun of special needs people,” said Grushecky to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “How could a person like that be president of the United States? Regardless of all the other (stuff), that to me is appalling. I have special needs people in my family and in my neighborhood. I worked with special needs people my whole life and I was really offended by it.”

Grushecky wrote “That’s What Makes Us Great” at the time of the Trump inauguration.

“I had this song, and Bruce and I had been talking,” Grushecky said. “I sent it to him and he liked it. I said, ‘What do you think about singing on it?’ He gave it the Bruce treatment.”

In “That’s What Makes Us Great,” Springsteen reportedly sings:

Don’t tell me a lie
And sell it as a fact
I’ve been down that road before
And I ain’t goin’ back

And don’t you brag to me
That you never read a book
I never put my faith
In a con man and his crooks

Grushecky and Springsteen have collaborated on multiple songs in the past and Springsteen won a Grammy for a live performance of their “Code of Silence” in 2005.

Springsteen proclaimed himself and the E Street Brand to be part of the “new American resistance” to the presidency of Trump at the band’s Sunday, Jan. 22 show in Perth, Australia. The pronouncement came  after the Women’s Marches of Saturday, Jan. 21 that took place in multiple U.S. cities, including Asbury Park."
